鈥淭hank you for seeing the potential in our students to help them succeed in their pursuits,鈥 said Kadian Callahan, the associate dean for student success and community engagement in the College of Science and Mathematics, as she spoke to the faculty being recognized. 鈥淏ecause of your dedication and strong focus on students, students taking our courses are having meaningful, connected learning experiences and finding success early and throughout their degree programs.鈥
Faculty were selected by departments based on their success rates among their students, evidence of student and course learning outcomes, alignment of course components with curriculum and college outcomes, and how they create a sense of belonging in the classroom.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to be here today to celebrate some of our excellent instructors,鈥 said Heather Koopman, dean of the College of Science and Mathematics and professor of biology. 鈥淵ou all have shown that we care about our students and that powerful engagement starts in the classroom.鈥
Lori Lowder, the KSU associate vice provost for student success, also addressed faculty, congratulating and thanking them for their increasing engagement to help KSU students succeed in their studies.
