Under the mentorship of Assistant Professor of Game Development Lei Zhang, computer science student Devon Haynes is studying how virtual reality environments enhanced with large language model (LLM) tutors could help students better grasp complex subjects.

But it wasn鈥檛 just the swinging between skyscrapers or combatting villains that fascinated him, Malone dreamed of being on the big screen. Today he is living that dream. The KSU public relations graduate recently starred in 鈥淵oung & Cursed,鈥 an independent horror film that premiered this fall on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, marking a major milestone in his acting career.

The two graduated from KSU鈥檚 College of Science and Mathematics in May with bachelor鈥檚 degrees in chemistry and stepped right into industry jobs in Marietta 鈥 Smith as a laboratory chemist with Underwriters Laboratory Solutions (UL Solutions), and London as an analytical chemist with German company imat-uve.

PechaKucha Night, hosted annually by the Office of Research, challenged researchers in each of KSU鈥檚 nine academic colleges to present their work visually, requiring them weave a story as each slide automatically advanced after just 20 seconds.
